Description:Showing a plain Georgian house, seen across a lake and a park. [There is no name.]

Maple Hayes House was built by George Addams, a Lichfield wine merchant, in 1794-1796. Wings with bay windows were added in about 1884-90. In 1953 it became a boarding house attached to King Edward VI Grammar School in Lichfield. Since 1982 it has been a specialist school for dyslexics.

Erasmus Darwin created his botanic garden just north of the house.
